Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology, which involves manipulating matter on a “nano-scale,” is a key enabling technology. Medical applications of nanotechnology are expected to significantly improve disease diagnostic and therapeutic modalities and reduce health care costs.
At Alfaisal University, the Nanotechnology Research (NR) Group focuses on designing materials at the nanoscale, including different nanostructures and nanocomposites for various applications ranging from biomedical to environmental and energy applications.
Domains of interest include
- Development of various nanomaterials for medical applications, including Drug delivery, antimicrobial, pharmaceutical formulations, and image-guided therapies
- Nanomaterials for Magnetic Hyperthermia
- Developing Bone cement and scaffolds: biocompatible materials that can be used as bone defect fillers in maxillofacial surgeries and in orthopedic fracture treatment
Nanotechnology Research Group Services
- Give an insight into how subjecting magnetic nanoparticles to an alternating magnetic field (AMF) induces heat and its application in nanomedicine.
- Training the characterization system for analyzing various kind
- Method Development for Nanostructured material for Drug Delivery and Magnetic Hyperthermia
